Deal with office politics
You feel disturbed, disappointed, broken, shattered. You feel lonely, guilty, tired, sick. and you feel stressed, tensed, anxious, restless. Everybody around you is making you reason of something wrong happened or happening with them. Maybe no one is telling this to you directly but you can see this in their eyes, body language and behavior with you.
When cheap politics makes you victim
Even you have overheard them blaming you for something you never thought you can be a reason of. Nothing is like what it was before. Everything changed in days, minutes or seconds. And you cannot do anything in this regard to defend yourself because things are not coming to you through a front door. Something is happening behind your back, at the back door.
This happens many times at your workplace where you go for your 9-to-6 job. Not only in government offices but also in private offices, now this thing is quite common. They have made you accuse of some blunder that you have never committed. Or you have been a scapegoat instead of entire team taking responsibility of a failure. The cheap politics you cannot escape from in this neck-to-neck competitive age.
First of all you must be most upset about the fact that your most close ones at the office are now taking you as granted. They must have trust in you even if you have not gave any explanation. But they did not try to talk to you about the matter to take your view even a single time. Think about it again if you mattered to them they would have put some time and effort to make you feel good. Try not to think about them that much as they are just colleagues to you.
How to deal with office politics?
And if some people really matter to you but having misunderstandings about you, believe me, in sometime they will know the truth. Not only they, but also others will be easy with you shortly. This will happen once the matter fades away in their mind. They will soon understand that you are the same buddy as you were sometime before. Remember, going to everyone and giving explanations will never work.
This action will make you more suspicious of some failure you are not cause of. Just take time and they will know the truth. However, don’t forget to identify the back-stabbers. Stay away from gossips in the office. Stay informed about whatever is happening around. Don’t allow a communication gap with your boss. Always remember, you are being watched. And your actions may affect your growth in the organisation.
